Abstract:

PURPOSE: To grip a workpiece selectively on the outside or on the inside by fixing a second mounting surface having a screw hole for a fixing bolt for fixing a reaction plate to one end of a base member and by putting the reaction plate in contact with the mounting surface and fixing selectively to one of both ends of the base member by the fixing bolt.

CONSTITUTION: When a reaction plate 11 grips a work W1 on the outside, it is arranged on a mounting surface 14 fixed to the end 1b of a base member 1 and is secured to the mounting surface 14 by a bolt 12. A screw shaft 8 is rotated by turning a removable hand crank 15 in this state to move a movable jaw 5 toward the work W1, and the jaw 5 grips the work W1 with a fixed jaw 4 on the outside. Next, when the reaction plate 11 grips the work W1 on the inside, it is removed from the mounting surface 14 and the screw shaft 8 is completely removed from a nut 7 and then it is removed from the end 1b of the base member 1 with the whole fixing unit (8-10, 16-22) and is fixed to the other end 1a where the fixed jaw 4 is fixed and is secured to a second mounting surface 14a by the bolt 12.
