Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably and smoothly realize required rotation driving of a stepping actuator for converting linear reciprocating motion into a stepwise rotating motion in the arbitrary direction of either normal or reverse at an arbitrarily set angle.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of linear reciprocating drive members 2A, 2B are housed independently of each other inside a housing 1 in a manner drivable in the axial direction. A common rotating motion member 3 is inserted into the linear reciprocating drive members. Inclined grooves 16A, 16B and endless circulating grooves consisting of circumferential grooves for connecting the inclined grooves to each other are formed in one of the members between the housing 1 and the linear reciprocating drive members 2A, 2B, while projections 18A, 18B to be fitted into the circulating grooves are held in the other member. The circumferential groove has a length in the circumferential direction corresponding to a rotating angle, which is obtained by the inclined groove together with driving in the axial direction of one of the linear reciprocating drive members. Although rotating motion is transmitted between the linear reciprocating drive members 2A, 2B and the rotating motion member 3, the movement in the axial direction is transmitted via a free connection mechanism.
