To provide an analog electronic clock capable of operating normally even in the case where a battery voltage becomes higher than a prescribed voltage.
A stepping motor control circuit comprises: a secondary battery 113 as a power source; rotation detection means which detects an induction signal generated by a rotation of a rotor of a stepping motor 105, and detects whether the induction signal exceeds a prescribed reference threshold voltage in a detection interval which has a plurality of sections; and drive and control means which decides a rotating condition of the stepping motor based on a pattern indicating whether the induction signal detected by the rotation detection means exceeds the reference threshold voltage in the plurality of sections, and drives and controls the stepping motor by selecting a driving pulse of any of a plurality of driving pulses of which energy is different mutually based on the decision result. When deciding that the secondary battery 113 has become higher than the prescribed voltage, the drive and control means selects a fixed driving pulse of which energy is larger than a main driving pulse, and carries out driving.
