Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect rotation reliably even in a low-power-consumption drive, thereby enabling stable drive.SOLUTION: A stepping motor control circuit according to the present invention includes a control unit for driving the rotation of a stepping motor 107 by a main drive pulse P1 of comb-tooth shape having energy corresponding to the rotating condition of the stepping motor 107 detected by a rotation detection circuit 113 and configured by alternately repeating a supply period in which a drive current is supplied to the drive coil of the stepping motor 107 and a supply stopped period in which the drive current is not supplied. When the control unit determines, on the basis of the rotating condition detected by the rotation detection circuit 113, that a drive margin of the stepping motor 107 does not exceed a prescribed amount, the control unit forms, in a supply stopped period equal to a prescribed number of main drive pulses P1 from the beginning, a first closed circuit including a drive coil and an element with prescribed impedance, and forms, in a supply stopped period other than the supply stopped period equal to the prescribed number of main drive pulses P1, a second closed circuit including an element with impedance smaller than the prescribed impedance and the drive coil.
