PURPOSE: To make it possible to drive a stepping motor even if command pulses for a stepping motor are output at a high speed.

CONSTITUTION: A drive equipment for driving a stepping motor by switching the state of excitation of exciting windings in accordance with a command pulse train has a stabilizing equipment 2 between a command pulse generator 1 and excitation switching signal generator circuit 3. Stabilizing equipment 2 comprises a delay circuit 22 for outputting a command pulse train after phase modulation, a single negative pulse generating circuit 21 for generating a single negative pulse having a sufficiently small width in response to the input of command pulse train, and an AND gate 23 which takes a logical product of these output values. The delay circuit 22 comprises a single sawtooth wave generating circuit 221 for generating sawtooth wave in response to the command pulse input and a comparator 222 for comparing the voltage of sawtooth wave to the voltage of speed error signal.
