Title:
STEPPING MOTOR DRIVER FOR MAGNETIC DISC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH02174596
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable a speedup of seek operation and a stable stop control by equipping analog switches in parallel with driving coils.

CONSTITUTION: A transistor 7 is turned ON for a given period of time by a step signal A via a monostable multivibrator 1 to supply bridge circuits 5, 6 with power, while the pH11 output of a decoder 4 is turned ON via a track counter 3 and transistors Q3, Q4 are turned ON. Similarly, the pH12 output of the decoder 4 is turned ON by the next step signal and transistors Q7, Q8 are turned ON. BY the next step signal but one, transistors Q2, Q5 and the transistors Q6, Q9 are turned ON. Thus, an exciting current flows through driving coils W1, W2 in a certain order and by the repetition of the process, a magnetic head can be sought in the specified position of a track. When the step signal ceases to come, the output of a monostable multivibrator 2 is turned OFF, analog switches 8, 9 are turned ON, and the driving coils are short- circuited to apply the brakes.
