PURPOSE: To provide a device which is suitable for automation and labor saving, can be formed into an inexpensive water quantity regulating valve capable of regulating the quantity of water stepwise, and also can be employed in an artificial snow machine as the nozzle of a stepwise type of water quantity regulating valve to obtain the quality and the quantity of snow conforming to ambient temperature and humidity on that occasion.

CONSTITUTION: A plural number of valves 46 are connected while being ranged here each valve is equipped with an inlet chamber 58, a discharge chamber 62, an opening 64 communicating both the chambers 58 and 62 with each other, and with a valve body 66 with a valve bar opening/closing the communication opening 64, and an actuator 52 operating the valve bar of each valve 46, is provided. In this case, the valve bars are mechanically integrated into one common bar 98, the actuator 52 is provided with a linear motion type moving element 100, the valve bar 98 is connected to the moving element 100, each valve body 66 and the like are installed onto the specified position of the valve bar 98 in such a way as to be slidable along the valve bar 98, or are fixedly installed, and in the case of the valve body 66 which can be slid, and the like, each operating member 104 which pushes each valve body 66 and the like, is attached onto the specified position of the valve bar 98. And the respective discharge ports of the stepwise type water quantity regulating valve 42 and the like are connected to the auxiliary nozzle unit of a nozzle ring via respective distributing pipes.
