Abstract:
Provided is a stereo measurement system that makes it possible to perform measurement over a wide range from a short distance to a long distance by use of a single stereo camera. A stereo measurement device for processing right and left image information from a stereo camera unit that provides the right and left image information by use of right and left cameras and that includes a camera control unit for the right and left cameras, the stereo measurement device being characterized in that the stereo measurement device is provided with: a feature point selection unit that selects feature points from the image scenes of the right and left image information; a calibration calculation unit that uses the selected feature points to perform a calibration, thereby calculating calculation data; a distance calculation unit that uses the calculated calibration data and the right and left image information to calculate the distance to a target object that is to be sensed; and a control amount calculation unit that calculates, from the calculated distance and the image information, control amounts by which to control the camera control unit for the right and left cameras, wherein the control amounts are provided to the camera control unit of the stereo camera unit for the right and left cameras.
