Title:
STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002084553
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a stereoscopic display device that can display three- dimensional pictures and two-dimensional pictures by switching, using a simple constitution.

This stereoscopic display device is provided with a light- dispersing member composed of a dispersion type polymer liquid crystal which transmits light, when a voltage is impressed upon the liquid crystal. The display device separates two parallax images for the left eye and the right eye from each other, so that images are seen stereoscopically by dividing each of the parallax images into many stripe parallax images and displaying the divided stripe parallax images as composited stripe parallax images by compositing the stripe parallax images by repetitively arranging the images at prescribed intervals in prescribed order in a fixed direction correspondingly to the two parallax images in a display pixel section, and then, leading the light in a prescribed direction by means of an optical member. In the display device, the light-dispersing member is arranged on the surface of a panel, so that two-dimensional image can be observed.
