Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device that displays a stereoscopic image with an integral stereoscopic system with improved resolution.SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device 1 comprises: a display panel 2 that is formed of a transmissive spatial light modulator; a point light source panel 3 that is formed of a plurality of point light sources L irradiating a pixel image to be displayed with light from a back face; and display control means 4 that displays, on the display panel 2, a first element image group eand a second element image group eformed of a plurality of element images having different viewpoint positions from those of a plurality of element images forming the first element image group, while switching the image groups at a predetermined time, and switches between turn-on and turn-off of the point light sources of the point light source panel 3 so as to turn on only a first point light source group Lcorresponding to the positions of the element images forming the first element image group during display of the first element image group, and turn on only a second point light source group Lcorresponding to the positions of the element images forming the second element image group during display of the second element image group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
