Title:
STEREOSCOPIC PICTURE SEPARATION FOR REDUCING PHOSPHOR LAG REDUCTION IN PDP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2003070025
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method and an apparatus which use phosphor elements for display, enabling the stereoscopic display.

The frame duration period of a stereoscopic picture is divided into at least one left period and at least one right period for a left and right pictures (L), (R). Similarities of both pictures are analyzed to determine common portions of corresponding pixel pairs. Subfield code words for the left/right picture are determined which have portions for specified left/right subfields (SRSF, SLSF) and portions for common subfields (CSF). The common subfield (CSF) is located at the last of each left/right field for the left/right picture. Thus the phosphor lag effect becomes no longer visible to the eyes.
