PURPOSE: To make it possible to change the image reproducing position, by deforming one of the focusing lens and the image reproducing lens at least.
CONSTITUTION: The optical center point and the focus for initial form la of the lens are denoted as M1 and F1 respectively, and the center point and the focus for form 1b of the lens are denoted as M2 and F2 respectively. In case that optical axis M1F1 is changed to M2F2, the image focused onto transmitting diffusion screen 2 through lens 1 from projector 4 placed in position A is moved to B1 for initial form 1a of lens 1 and B2 for form 1b. Images of B1 and B2 are reproduced in positions C1 and C2 when they pass through reproducing lens 3. Then, C1 and C2 are defined as positions of eyes, and the right eye image and the left eye image are sent alternately from projector 4 for deformation of lens 1 into form 1a and deformation of lens 1 into form 1b respectively, and this picture exchange and lens deformation are performed in a short time within a range where residual images can be seen, so that stereoscopic images can be obtained by one projector.
