Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sterilize Legionella bacteria generated in a cooling column by an inexpensive and simple means.
CONSTITUTION: The saline soln. in a water tank 1 is pumped up to a circulating system by a pump 2 and sent to an electrolytic cell 8 to be electrolyzed to make free chlorine water and returned to the water tank 1. When the concn. of free chlorine in the circulating system becomes high by repeating this electrolysis, the three-way valve provided to the circulating system is changed over to send free chlorine water to a cooling column 6 to sterilize Legionella bacteria.
