Abstract:
To provide a sterilization method for removing suspending bacteria in the air, and also to provide an ion generator and an air conditioner.
Meshed electrodes 22 and 23 are disposed on a cylindrical dielectric substance 21 so that they face to each other across the dielectric substance. The ion generator 11 which generates positive and negative ions simultaneously by impressing an AC voltage across the electrodes 22 and 23 is disposed on the upstream side of an air outlet 15 of an air channel of an air cleaner. When ions are generated by impressing the AC voltage between the electrodes 22 and 23, bactericidal active species are generated by chemical reactions between the positive and negative ions and are diffused all over the space.
