Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out effective sterilization of milk and to enable long-term preservation of milk, by imposing (discharging) high voltage to milk.
CONSTITUTION: Milk is put into a metallic container and a carbon rod is inserted into the milk. An electric energy of 50kV and about 5kJ is imposed to the milk using the metallic container as a cathode and the carbon rod as an anode. A high-pressure plasma is generated in the discharge channel to generate a shock wave of several thousands atm, which sterilizes the milk.
