PURPOSE: To obtain a sterilizing sheetlike material having excellent effectiveness in sterilizing and antimicrobial properties by using a substance capable of effectively acting even on Escherichia coli or further fine ceramics in combination in a polymeric material and molding the resultant mixture into a sheetlike shape.
CONSTITUTION: This sterilizing sheetlike material is obtained by blending a polymeric material such as a plastics or an elastomer with a powder of humus soil and/or synthetic fine ceramics, expanding, or without expansion and molding the resultant blend into a sheetlike form or expanding, or without expansion, and molding the blended powder into a fibrous, a pipelike or a rodlike form, postprocessing the formed molding and molding the processed material into the sheetlike form. The humus soil and/or synthetic fine ceramics in an amount of 70-2 pts.wt. based on 30-98 pts.wt. polymeric material are used. The ratio of the added humus soil and/or synthetic fine ceramics is preferably (10:1) to (1:10). Since the humus soil performs sterilizing actions thereof and the synthetic fine ceramics, especially bioceramics synergistically perform far infrared ray actions thereof, the sterilizing actions of the sterilizing sheet are improved.
