Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stern shape having a stern duct which enhances propulsion efficiency by use of a flow below a propeller, and a marine vessel.SOLUTION: A stern shape comprising a propeller 20 which is provided at a stern of a hull 10, and a stern duct 30 which is attached to the front of the propeller 20, in which a duct body 31 of the stern duct 30 has a substantially 3/4 cylindrical shape, and a rear edge of the duct body 31 has a substantially 3/4 circular lower part or a straight part 32 connected to a substantially 3/4 circle at a lower center when forward viewed from the rear of the hull 10. A cross-sectional shape of the straight part 32 in the side view has an internally convexed profile such that a rear part thereof is inclined upward within a range of two degrees or more and 10 degrees or less with respect to a horizontal plane, and an internal radius r of the substantially 3/4 circle is so set to as to fall within 40% or more and 80% or less of a radius of the propeller 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
