Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve a lubricating system in the stern tube bearing structure of a counter-rotating propeller mechanism serving as ship propulsion machinery.
CONSTITUTION: A circumferential groove 12 is formed in the outer shaft bearing 11 of a counter-rotating propeller mechanism and lubricating oil supplied to the circumferential groove 12 from an oil feeding pipe 13 is introduced into an inner shaft bearing 7 via an oil feeding passage 10 formed in an outer shaft 1. The device can then be made smaller as a whole compared with conventional ones in which a pressure oil supply portion is formed inside the inner shaft.
