PURPOSE: To provide a new compd. which has positive contractive inotropic activity and vasodilation activity and is useful for treatments for diseases in nerve circulatory system, especially for heart failure and hypertension.
CONSTITUTION: This compd. is a steroid compd. expressed by formula I which effects on the cardiovascular system. In the formula I, X is 0; (n) is 0, 1; R is H, glycidic acid residue; R1, R2 are H or R1 and R2 form a covalent bond together, substituents on 5, 10, 13 and 14 positions are in β-configuration, and the compd. is, for example, 3β-[[6-deoxy-3,0-methyl-α-L-glycopyranosyl]oxy]-14- hydroxy-17-(R)-spiro-(1'-cyclobutan-2'-one(-5β,14β-androstane. The compd. is obtd. by allowing a compd. expressed by formula II (X is R, a protecting group; Y is H, a protecting group) to react with an anion of a cyclopropyl deriv. produced from a compd. expressed by formula III (Z is H, a halogen; A is phenylthio, ethoxy) to obtain a compd. expressed by formula IV, and then converting the obtd. compd. into a compd. expressed by formula V, and then further removing the protecting group of the compd. or hydrolyzing.
