To provide a stretchable nonwoven fabric having not only an excellent touch feeling and touch but also excellent strength balance between the longitudinal direction and transverse direction unachievable with a conventional water stream-entangled nonwoven fabric and having good elasticity characteristics.

The stretchable nonwoven fabric is obtained by three-dimensionally entangling and integrating fibers of a web layer mainly composed of fibers having ≤10 μm single fiber diameter with a reinforcing material with a high-pressure columnar water stream. In the resultant integrated entangled nonwoven fabric, the reinforcing material is a woven or a knitted fabric composed of yarns containing polyurethane fibers. The ratio of the longitudinal strength to the transverse strength of the entangled nonwoven fabric is within the range of 0.5-2.0.
