Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high resolution image by providing a storage means which stores a prediction coefficient of an estimation equation for still image signal conversion in each class and performing an estimation operation based on a read prediction coefficient and a segmented still image signal.
SOLUTION: An area segmenting circuit 12 segments image data and supplies the segmented image data (predictive tap) to an estimation arithmetic circuit 16. A class code generation circuit 14 performs an operation based on compressed pattern data from an ADRC circuit 13, detects a class to which a block belongs and supplies a class code showing the class to a ROM table 15. The circuit 16 calculates image data of high resolution by performing an operation according to the prediction tap supplied from the circuit 12 and a prediction coefficient supplied from the table 15, and outputs it through an output terminal. With this, a waveform that is closer to an actual wave is reproduced, and image data that has an excellent image quality and high resolution is outputted.
