PURPOSE: To perform efficient and detailed processing control on a still picture filing system.

CONSTITUTION: In the still picture filing system which performs the reproduction and display processing of a still picture by a still picture reproducing device by starting up the still picture reproducing device and an audio reproducing device by a personal computer, and also, performs the reproduction and output processing of speech and music by the audio reproducing device, a still picture reproducing device side outputs(b) a restoration signal when a command of start-up is issued (a), and the reproduction and display processing of the still picture in accordance with the command are performed, while, a personal computer side receiving the restoration signal starts up (c) the display processing, for example, an audio reproducing device side without awaiting the completion of the display processing. In such a way, it is possible to perform the synchronous reproduction of the still picture and speech since the audio reproducing device can be started up while the reproduction and display processing of the still picture are being performed, and also, since it is possible to vary the reproducing timing of the speech, the detailed processing control can be applied.
