PURPOSE: To easily know the presence or absence of a still picture file stored in a built-in memory or the number of files with no operation of keys in an automatic reception mode.
CONSTITUTION: The portable still picture transmitters 1A and 1B are connected to each other via a telephone circuit 5. Each of both transmitters 1A and 1B contains an automatic receiving function and automatically receives the still picture files (still picture image data) transmitted from the same devices set at the separate points in an automatic reception mode and they are stored in a work RAM. The number of still picture files stored in a work RAM is shown on a display device 12 of each of both transmitters 1A and 1B in an automatic reception mode. The displayed number of files changes every time a still picture file is stored in the work RAM. Thus an operator can know the presence or absence of the still picture file stored in the work RAM or the number of stored files in an automatic reception mode just by seeing the number of files shown on the device 12 and with no complicated operation of keys.
