PURPOSE: To provide the titled granulator attained in conservation of time, motive power and the amount of a binder required in granulation and enhanced in capacity, constituted so as to subject a slurry to tumbling granulation on a spiral guide plate provided along the inner wall of a shaft type cylindrical main body having a stirrer.

CONSTITUTION: In a stirring type granulator 34, a stirrer 12 is provided in the main body 11 of a shaft type cylindrical graulator having a top plate 11a and a bottom plate 11b so as to insert a stirring blade 16 having a stirring blade 17 attached thereto along the axis of said granulator main body 11 while a spiral guide blade 18 is provided therein so as to be attached along the inner wall of the granulator main body 11 and a metal net 19 is provided above said guide plate 18. A slurry containing a coagulated substance obtained by a method wherein oil droplets are adhered to the surfaces of fine coal particles in a coagulator (not shown in the drawing) and adhered oil is further utilized as a binder to coagulate said fine coal particles is supplied to a granulator 34 from an inlet 13 and subjected to tumbling granulation while upwardly moved on the guide plate 18 by rotating the stirrer 12 by drive apparatus 15 and the ungranulated substance is screened by the metal net 19 to send out only the granulated substance from an outlet 14.
