To provide a high strength, inexpensive stock for a wire drawing die made of a high hardness composite sintered compact in which a distribution of the stress in the composite sintered compact part is improved, and the generation of cracks is reduced upon wire drawing, and to provide a wire drawing die.
The stock for a wire drawing die made of a high hardness composite sintered compact is obtained by sticking a second metal support material 4 to the upper face or lower face of a high strength composite sintered compact 3 in which a high hardness material 1 essentially consisting of polycrystal diamond or cubic boron nitride is surrounded by a first metal support material 2, so as to be integrally sintered using a brazing filler metal. The wire drawing die is produced using the same.
