To provide a stone material for decoration with new design properties.
The surface of the stone material for decoration is coated with a japan. When the japan is applied onto a marble tile for an interior finishing material as a stone material to be an object for coating, the procedure of coating comprises repeating of coating, drying and abrading similar to a case for a wood material, and a layer of the japan is made approximately to be 1 mm in thickness. By using the tile the surface of which is coated with the japan, a warmth and a depth which are different from a cold and inorganic atmosphere of the tile as it is which is not treated by any handling can be obtained by gloss of the japan, and it is also possible to bring about an atmosphere of a traditional japanese house. As the japan also fulfills a function of coating to an object coated with it, the surface of the tile is hardly damaged.
