Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of an aircraft collision accident due to misoperation by controlling the ON/OFF of taxiway centerline lamps arranged up to the front of stop bars, stop bar lamps and taxiway center line lamps from the stop bars up to a runway.

CONSTITUTION: Whether the position of an aircraft on a runway is in the front of the stop bars, on the stop bars, or passes the stop bars is detected by an aircraft position detecting means 1 and a lamp control means 4 respectively controls the ON/OFF of the taxiway center lamps arranged up to the front of the stop bars, the stop bar lamps and the taxiway center line lamps from the stop bars up to the runway based upon the detection result of the position. Consequently, air traffic controller's load can be remarkably reduced and the generation of an aircraft collision accident due to the misoperation of the controller can be surely prevented.
