PURPOSE: To stop a magnetic levitation carrier car at a designated position by applying a drive control output signal to the direction where the same directional thrust is generated to each drive circuit and by applying a bias output signal of a constant magnitude to the direction where mutually backward thrust is generated to each drive circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Along the travelling direction A of a magnetic levitation carrier car 1 the stators 1a and 1b of the primary linear motor on the ground are bisectedly formed. There are provided two drive circuits 2a and 2b so that each stator can independently be excited, to one of which, i.e., the drive circuit 2a, a constant bias output signal (b) is applied as well as a travelling control signal (c) of the magnetic levitation carrier car 1, while to the other drive circuit 2b the gain of control power near the stop position can be set at a limited value by applying a backward bias output signal -(b) as well as the traveling control signal of the magnetic levitation carrier car 1. The force to hold the magnetic levitation carrier car 1 near the stop position can therefore be set to work effectively. The magnetic levitation carrier car 1 can thereby be stopped at the predetermined position in a short time.
