PURPOSE: To provide a device for keeping the stop state of a stopping vehicle, which is operated only in the case of start against a driver's will.

CONSTITUTION: A stop keeping device for a vehicle comprises a parking brake sensor 12 for detecting the operating condition of a parking brake, a vehicle moving detecting means 2 for detecting the moving condition of a vehicle, a braking force increasing means 3 for increasing the braking force, a parking brake sensor 12, a vehicle moving detecting means 2, and a control part 4 connected to the braking force increasing means 3. Accordingly, the control part 4 operates the braking force increasing means 3 on the condition that the operation of the parking brake is detected, and the moving of the vehicle is detected, and controls the braking force increasing means 3 to be put in the inoperative state in the case where the acceleration more than a preset value is detected.
