PURPOSE: To confine the molten metal tending to leak out of a spacing and to prevent oxidation of the molten metal at the time of pressurization by fitting a sliding nozzle with a slight spacing onto a projecting part extended to the lower part of a pouring nozzle and supplying pressure fluid into this spacing.
CONSTITUTION: The lower part of the pouring nozzle 2 in the bottom of a ladle 1 is extended with the projecting part 5. The sliding nozzle 14 is fitted at the spacing of about 0.3mm per side onto the projecting part 5 and approached and separated to and from a pouring port 8 of a casting mold by a cylinder 4b. An inert gas lager than the outflow force of the molten metal 15 is supplied by a pressuring means 16 toward the inside of the spacing between the projecting part 5 and the sliding nozzle 14. The liquid pressurizing the spacing is confined by the inert gas and, therefore, the molten metal at the time of pouring is less oxidized and the production of a high-quality casting is possible.
