Abstract:

To provide a storage battery cell short-circuit detection method and a detection apparatus thereof which can detect a cell short circuit without fail.

In step S1, the inter-terminal voltage Vm and current Im of a storage battery 10 are measured; in step S2, whether the storage battery is under charging/discharging is determined. When it is determined as being under charging/discharging, whether the inter-terminal voltage Vm is lower than an allowable voltage value Vlim is determined in step S3; when it is determined that the inter-terminal voltage Vm is lower than the allowable voltage value Vlim, voltage lowering information indicating that the inter-terminal voltage Vm is lower than the allowable voltage value Vlim is stored in step S4; in step S6, whether degradation excess information has been so far stored, and when the degradation excess information has been already stored, processing in the case of a cell short circuit occurs is performed in step S7; and when it is determined as being suspended of charging/discharging in step S2, the degree of degradation is determined.
