Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a performance deterioration of a storage battery caused by the battery being left in no use.SOLUTION: A control section 20 has two kinds of operation modes, i.e. a use mode and a protection mode. The protection mode is an operation mode to prevent a performance deterioration of a storage battery 10. When in the protection mode, the control section 20 controls a charging/discharging part (a charging circuit part 11 or a discharging circuit part 12) of each power storage device 1 so that a charge level of the storage battery 10 is kept within a prescribed protection range. For example, if the storage battery is a lithium ion battery, a range of between 40% to 60% charge level is suitable for its protection range. When the control section 20 is shifted to the protection mode, if a charge level of the storage battery 10 becomes less than a lower limit of a protection range, the control section 20 makes the charging circuit part 11 perform a charging. Conversely, if a charge level of the storage battery 10 becomes more than an upper limit of a protection range, the control section 20 makes the discharging circuit part 12 perform a discharging. Thus, a charge level of the storage battery 10 can be kept within a protection range.
