To take proper actions, even if power failure continues for a long time by permitting a dry battery in place of a storage battery to be accommodated in a storage battery housing box.
This storage battery housing box is provided with a box body 50 of rectangular solid shape, which involves the width of a little longer length than the length of a dry battery, negative electrodes formed side by side along one side of the inner surface of the box body 50, the first positive electrodes 53a formed side by side along the other side of the inner surface of the box body 50, and an electrode panel 51 formed with a plurality of the second positive electrodes 70 side by side, which is usually slanted, and raised when accommodating the dry battery in place of the storage battery, so as to be put along the other side of the inner surface of the box body 50. The storage battery as an auxiliary power source at the time of power failure is accommodated. If power failure continues for a long time and the storage battery is worn, the electrode panel 51 is raised and a space is narrowed, so as to perfectly accommodate dry batteries of U-2 size, and the dry batteries of U-2 size are fitted side by side between the electrode panel 51 and the negative electrode.
