To provide a storage battery module having a cooling mechanism capable of suppressing an excessive rise of the temperature of storage battery cells constituting a storage battery module.
A storage battery module 30 has a heat sink structure which includes: a plurality of storage battery cells 10 arrayed in rows and stages; a storage battery grip part 20 surrounding the storage battery cells in close contact with outer package portions of the storage battery cells 10 thereby to grip and fix the storage battery cells 10, and having a cavity portion 21 thereinside; and a cooling fluid 40 filling the cavity portion 21 inside the storage battery grip part 20 and capable of cooling the storage battery cells 10 by latent heat. Naphthalene or U alloy 70 which is a low-melting point metal is used as the cooling fluid 40. Also, the storage battery module 30 has a pressure control tank communicating to the cavity portion 21 of the storage battery grip part 20 through a pressure valve. The storage battery module 30 may have a structure for regulating the sealing pressure of the cooling fluid 40 in the cavity portion 21. The storage battery grip part 20 may have a form capable of gripping, of the plurality of storage battery cells 10 arrayed in rows and stages, storage battery cells 10 exposed to the outside by electrode portions thereof.
