To provide a limited electrolyte type battery having direct thermal contact between an electrode bundle and a vessel wall.
This storage battery contains an electrode bundle including a positive electrode 16 and a negative electrode 15 separated from each other with an intermediate separator 7, and includes a vessel 1 having the electrodes 5 and 6 and the intermediate separator 7 immersed in and impregnated with an electrolyte. In this case, a heat transfer material 8 is laid between the end section of the electrode 5 or 6 and the wall 9 of the vessel 1, and kept in contact with the end sections of the electrodes 5 and 6, and the wall 9. In addition, the heat transfer material 8 is electrically insulated at least at the side in contact with the end sections of the electrodes 5 and 6.
