To provide a storage box for a rolled printing plate material package with which inventory control is easy and transport in the same size and lot is possible, and to provide a method for carrying the same.
The storage box houses a rolled printing plate material package with winding stem protection members attached to both ends and comprises a bottom plate and four lateral plates upstanding from the major and minor sides of the bottom plate, wherein the lateral plates on the minor sides have respective holding parts and detachable partition plates are provided within the storage box in positions parallel to and symmetric with respect to a plane which symmetrically divides the lengthwise direction of the storage box. According to the axial size of each rolled printing plate material package to be housed, the detachable partition plates can be located in dimensional positions in which the rolled printing plate material package is made immovable in its axial direction, and a plurality of fixing guides for fixing the partition plates in the storage box are provided.
