Abstract:
A timepiece equipped with silent alarm comprising an electrically driven timekeeping section and a mechanically driven alarm section. The alarm section consists of an unlocking wheel meshing with an hour wheel; an eccentric weight supported rotatably at its eccentric position; an alarm lever for biasing the hour wheel to the unlocking wheel, capable of meshing with an engagement portion having the tip thereof formed on the eccentric weight; an external operation member for controlling the start and stop of the eccentric weight; a mainspring for driving the eccentric weight; and a train wheel for transmitting the driving force of this mainspring. When a preset alarm time is reached, the hour wheel meshes with the unlocking wheel and enables the eccentric weight to start operating and the eccentric weight is rotated by the force of the mainspring. A winding stem, the mainspring and the eccentric weight are disposed on the section having substantially the same height.
