Abstract:
To provide a storage device capable of preventing data leakage even when a storage is exhausted.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a storage device comprises a first nonvolatile memory, a second nonvolatile memory, and a controller. The first nonvolatile memory includes a plurality of storage elements in each of which data can be written a plurality of times, and stores first encryption key generation information. The second nonvolatile memory includes a plurality of storage elements which can change each of electric characteristics once, and stores second encryption key generation information. When encryption erasure is requested from a host, the controller is configured so as to perform first processing for erasing the first encryption key information. When first processing fails, the controller is configured so as to perform second processing for erasing the second encryption key generation information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
