PURPOSE: To set required information automatically by a setting device for film information, by driving the setting device by using an electromagnetic device on the basis of information read by photoelectric elements.
CONSTITUTION: Information (e.g., photographic speed) holes (h) provided to a film F are read by photoelectric detectors 1a, 1b, 2a, and 2b and discriminated by an information extracting circuit. Each time a pulse generating circuit 4 generates a prescribed number of pulses according to the obtained information, an electromagnet Mg attracts the armature 5a of a lever 5 and as the lever rotates around a shaft 5c counterclockwise, a feed pawl 5d rotates a ratchet wheel 7 clockwise by one tooth 1. Once a display plate 12 is rotated, an information setting resistor 8 united with the ratchet wheel inputs necessary information to an exposure arithmetic circuit. The input information is stored until photographing is completed and a back cover is opened to separate the lever 5 and reversal motion preventing lever 6 of the ratchet wheel from the ratchet wheel with a lever 9.
