Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required to recover unsaved management information.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a storage device having a nonvolatile storage medium includes a volatile memory, a nonvolatile memory capable of accessing faster than the nonvolatile storage medium, and a controller. The volatile memory stores plural pieces of management information for managing of the storage device. The controller determines at least one of the plural pieces of management information to be a saving target to be saved to the nonvolatile memory, based on the recovery time necessary for recovering the management information. The controller saves the determined management information to the nonvolatile memory according to cut-off of power to the storage device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
