Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent inability to communicate information between a storage medium and an information reading/writing device when transmitting/receiving various kinds of information between the storage medium which is mounted on a signpost laid underground and is capable of conducting contactless communication, and the information reading/writing device therefor.
SOLUTION: A communication region and a shielding region are formed on a surface of a storage medium unit consisting of a nonconductive heat insulator including a storage medium capable of carrying out a contactless communication and a nonconductive impact-resistant member that wraps the heat insulator. The communication region is the region for a communication path when the communication is conducted between the information reading/writing device capable of reading/writing information from and to the storage medium, and the storage medium. The gap between the communication region and the storage medium is established so that it falls within the range where communication of various kinds of information can be made between the information reading/writing device and the storage medium. The gap between the shielding region and the storage medium is established so that it assures that the storage medium is outside the region affected by an electromagnetic field generated from a conductor outside the storage medium unit.
