PURPOSE: To eliminate a classification work for yarn feeders in a storage area by classifying and storing, in the storage area, empty yarn feeders whose weft yarn is used up and malfunctioning yarn feeders which are recalled from weaving machines in a textile factory.

CONSTITUTION: In a textile factory 10 which is provided with a saving machine installation area 14 Mere multiple weaving machines 12 are installed, a storage area 16 for weft yarn feeders, and a yarn feeder carrier device 20 which travels between both the areas 14, 16 along a prescribed route 18, the carrier device 20 consists of a doffer which can travel alone a ceiling of the textile factory 10. The doffer is provided with two pairs of oscillating arms which can lift up and down to hold a full yarn feeder 22, an empty yarn feeder 24, or a malfunctioning yarn feeder 26 respectively. When the carrier device holds the full yarn feeder 22 at a stocker 28 by a pair of the oscillating arms and travels to the weaving machine 12, it lowers the other pair of the oscillating arms, and holds and recalls the empty yarn feeders 24 or the malfunctioning yarn feeders 26 on the weaving machine 12 to store them at respective stockers 30, 32.
