Abstract:

To transfer data only in the case of necessity such as shortage of a data storage capacity.

In this storage network system, in which a computer system 10 of a user, a storage system 20 of the user, and a storage system 30 of an outsource are connected mutually, data are transmitted to the storage system 20 of the user when a request for storage of the data is generated in the computer system 10 of the user. In receipt of the data from the computer system 10 of the user, the storage system 20 of the user determines whether a capacity for storing the data remains or not. The determination result shows that a capacity for storing the data are not left, the storage system 20 of the user transmits the data to the storage system 30 of the outsource. In receipt of the data, the storage system 30 of the outsource stores the data.
