Abstract:
To provide a storage pump and a method of operating the storage pump capable of continuously performing smooth pre-waiting operation by reducing the vibration of the pump resulting from the suction of air when a water level is low.
This storage pump comprises a pump casing 16 having a suction port 26a opened downward, an impeller 20 rotating around its vertical axis in the pump casing 16, an inlet port 36 formed in the pump casing 16 on the upstream side of the impeller 20, and an inlet pipe 38 communicating, at its one end, with the inlet port 36. The other end of the inlet pipe 38 is branched into at least two branch pipes 40a and 40b.
