PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system that has parity disks optimally arranged for the recovery of a failed disk.SOLUTION: A storage system includes a plurality of data disks and parity disks storing information. The parity disks correspond to a disk group including a part of the plurality of data disks, and store parity information created on the basis of the data in the data disks included in the corresponding disk group. Any of the data disks is included in a plurality of disk groups.
