Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a copy of control information between memory cards while preventing leakage of the information and an illicit copy, and to eliminate limitation by the number of slots in an equipment. SOLUTION: Key information is recorded in a data storage area 15 of the memory card 10, and plural actual informations are recorded in plural data storage areas 25 of the memory card 20. The information is copied from the memory card 10 to the memory card 20 to make the corresponding actual information effective. When the key information is copied, a copy history is recorded in the memory card 10, an identification number of the memory card 20 in a copied side is also recorded therein, and the key information is allowed thereafter to be recopied to the memory card 20 having the same identification number. The memory card 20 obtaining the key information is inserted into the slot of the equipment, and the equipment is allowed thereby to use the actual information.
