PURPOSE: To provide a storage type electrical hot water heater for use in storing hot water from an upper part of a hot water storing tank in which a reliability of a device is improved against its freezing state and a hot water temperature within the hot water storing tank is stabilized.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided a hot water storing tank 1 of which lower part has a first connecting pipe 2 connected thereto and upper part has a hot water feeding pipe 3 connected thereto; a circulation pump 4; a heating source 5 communicated with the circulation pump; a bypassing pipe 9 for connecting the first connecting pipe 2 with the hot water feeding pipe 3; an opening or closing valve 10 arranged in the bypassing pipe 9; a temperature sensor 11 arranged at a downstream side of the opening or closing valve 10; and a control device 12. The control device 12 electrically energizes the circulation pump 4 and the heating source 5 with a signal got from the temperature sensor 11, releases the opening or closing valve 10, increases a water temperature within a system and improves a reliability of the device against a freezing state. In addition, the opening or closing valve 10 is closed with a signal got from the temperature sensor 11, causes hot water of high temperature having reached the predetermined temperature to flow into the hot water storing tank 1 just after starting operation of the device and then a boiling-up hot water temperature is stabilized.
