Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine that a vehicle is in a straightly advancing condition, only from wheel speed data under any travelling condition.
SOLUTION: A wheel speed ratio operating means 21 and a distance operating means 31 and a distance ratio operating means 32 operate right and left wheel speed ratios, an actual traveling distance, a straight line distance and the distance ratio of both distances respectively for every predetermined check point (CP) based on right and left wheel speed values operated by a wheel speed operating means 13 from the detected values of right and left wheel speed sensors 11, 12. A wheel speed ratio fluctuation range evaluating means 24 extracts CP's at those points of time when the fluctuation range of the wheel speed ratio is comparatively small as an effective CP, and a determining means 43 determines that the effective CP whereby the distance ratio becomes minimum is the one at which the vehicle is in the straightly advancing condition among other effective CP's.
