Abstract:
To easily and accurately set an overhang length of a straight shank rotary working tool when mounting it on a holder.
When a straight shank 18 is inserted into an inserting part 20 of the holder 12, the overhang length L of an end mill 10 from the holder 12 is determined by bringing a snap ring 24 provided on the straight shank 18 into contact with a tip end face 26 of the holder 12. By this method, mounting work can be easily and quickly carried out without measuring the overhang length L using a tool presetter and the like, and required machining is always properly carried out by an NC machine tool and the like because there is no risk of erroneously adjusting the overhang length L by a measurement miss.
