To provide a straightening machine that can continuously change the gap between upper and lower straightening rolls and whose maintenance is easy.
A straightening machine 10 includes upper and lower straightening rolls 11 and 12 arranged side by side and backup rolls 13a-13k and 14a-14k that are arranged parallel to shaft centers of the upper and lower straightening rolls 11 and 12, respectively, and are brought into contact with the upper and lower straightening rolls 11 and 12, and it vertically presses down a steel sheet 17 carried between an upper straightening roll group 15 and a lower straightening roll group 16 by the upper and lower straightening rolls 11 and 12 to straighten the steel sheet 17. The backup rolls 13a-13k and 14a-14k are supported by upper and lower beam members 26 and 29 arranged opposite to each other, in which upper and lower frames 24, 25 and 27, 28 are provided on both sides in the lengthwise direction, and the upper and lower frames 24, 25 and 27, 28 are connected with height adjusting means 30 and 31.
